One Piece and music lovers can now add Brook’s iconic Shark Guitar to their collections!

The new instrument is also perfect for confusing your bandmates when you tell them that your biggest musical influence is a skeleton.

Fans of One Piece‘s “Soul King” Brook should be pleased to know that the jammin’ skeleton’s very own Shark Guitar is now available for preorder!

This guitar is a welcome collaboration between Premium Bandai and Shimamura Music, and is made entirely in Japan with a body crafted from American basswood. In addition, the parts are produced by Gotoh, a Japanese guitar hardware and accessories company known for their top-notch quality. In other words, this isn’t just some cheap anime tie-in product, but a bona fide musical instrument fit for the pros.

Check out the Shark Guitar’s sleek design, faithfully replicated from the One Piece anime:

Both Premium Bandai and Shimamura Music are now taking preorders for the Shark Guitar, with an expected shipping date of September. Shoppers should be warned that the guitar will set them back 270,000 yen (US$2,640), tax included, but that’s a small price to pay for dedicated fans of Brook…right?

If not, Shimamura Music is also selling 27 collectible One Piece-themed guitar picks. A pack of two randomly selected picks goes for just 450 yen ($4.40), which should make your wallets just a teensy bit happier:

Enjoy jammin’ the Seven Seas on your very own quest to become the best guitarist there ever was!

Get ready to meet the new sheriff in town..Super Mecha Toy Story Robot Sheriff.

We’ve seen some strange Toy Story merchandise before, but this one takes it to a whole new level. Get ready to meet the new sheriff in town: “Super Mecha Toy Story Robot Sheriff.”

▼ Andy got a new toy for Christmas…
and it’s gonna kick all the other toys’ butts.

toy story mech (2)

This is no fan creation – it’s an official toy recently announced by BANDAI for release this upcoming fall. It stands a full 230 millimeters (9 inches) tall, and it is packed with as much awesome as plastically possible.

But, there’s still the question: what exactly is it? Well, for starters, it’s not just one thing – it’s five separate toys joined together into one magnificent mecha. Here’s the cast of characters:

▼ We start off with Woody,
who’s looking spiffy with some rocket boots.

toy story mech (5)

▼ Next is the horse Bullseye, who now has a…missile-launcher??

toy story mech (6)

▼ Then there’s Slinky with tank-feet…

toy story mech (7)

▼ …Hamm the hover-pig…

toy story mech (1)

▼ …and Rex, who looks like he’s finally the laser-shooting
dinosaur we’ve always dreamed of.

toy story mech (8)

▼ And with their forces combined, they become…

toy story mech (9)Twitter/@Kyukimasa

▼ Super Mecha Toy Story Robot Sheriff! Awww yeahhhh!

toy story mech (3)

▼ Not sure how effective it would be to punch with a slinky,
but we’re not going to argue with awesome!

toy story mech (4)

This creation story behind this Toy Story mecha was recently unveiled by Bandai in a short video. You can watch it here:

Personally I have no idea why the characters from Toy Story have basically turned into the Power Rangers, but hey, major creativity points to whoever at BANDAI came up with this thing!

If you want to get your own Toy Story mecha, it will be available starting November 25. The price is a steep 18,900 yen (US$177), but you’ve got six full months to get your piggy bank (or Godzilla bank) ready.

Japanwebshopping.com gets a Spring make-over.

It’s May, the flowers bloom, the birds lay eggs, the smell of fresh green grass tickles your prefrontal cortex….memories from  happy times are triggered and a feeling of nostalgia flows through your body. Life is good.  But May isn’t just a month of memories, it’s also a month of renewal, new wallpapers are chosen, Ikea is busier than ever and websites get a sunny make-over. Japanwebshopping has been sporting a very dark look, yeah we are freaks and we’re proud of it! Problem is that it was maybe a bit too otaku and scared away the casual shopper. We went to work and created a lighter and easier accessible site, while still holding on to our beloved black and gray (that we are great Yohji Yamamoto fans is something that goes without saying).

Let us know what you think about it, your opinion greatly matters to us.

Cerevo Inc’s Psycho-Pass Dominator accessories for sale

Cerevo Inc’s Psycho-Pass Dominator smart toy went on sale on in March and the company recently opened pre-orders for its accompanying protective case and display stand.

1

The Cerevo Dominator goes above and beyond previous Dominators created by Bandai’s Proplica line and Ichiban Kuji’s release with a camera viewer and wireless LAN capabilities, allowing users to view Crime Coefficients with their smartphone, as well as a special app to view a Public Safety Bureau’s Criminal Investigation Division user interface. Production I.G director Naoyoshi Shiotani and Nitroplus designer Makoto Ishiwata supervised the Dominator’s creation. The motorized transformation from Paralyzer to Eliminator modes marks a first in the world for smart toys. Voice actress Noriko Hidaka recorded 100 voice samples for use.

The replica can be purchased  from Cerevo’s website for 79,800 yen (US$682) or the special edition for 89,800 yen (US$768). The protective case costs 12,800 yen (US$118.50) and is completely waterproof and impact resistant. Like the Dominator, it’s also an exact replica of those seen in the anime series.

2

The display stand is 9,800 yen (US$91) and has a built in AC adapter. Customers can set their Dominator to “Display” mode using the app to pick what mode (Paralyzer or Eliminator) to show off their Dominator.

Limited ion plated Gundam tumbler now up for pre-order.

Gundam Cafe Online the creators of the discovery-g series which also brought us these sake cups (sixth installment), now introduced their  seventh installment.

GCO has been upping their game with this ion coated drinking tumbler, created after the RX-78-2 Gundam rocket pack “vernier thrusters”, this tumbler is a true masterpiece.

Made out of 18-8 stainless steel (this steel has superior corrosion resistance..so it says) by the craftsmen/blacksmith  of Tsubame in collaboration with  Sabae famous for its Echizen lacquer ware. Sabae is also one of the three major producer of glasses where they with more than 100 years of experience in ion plating make for the perfect partner.

The Gundam tumbler has a black titanium colored outside and a silver colored inside.

There is just too much involved in the production process to write down and not sound like a total bore, so trust me when I say that this tumbler isn’t something you can make yourself or something you can find at your local Wall Mart.

These tumblers have a double-wall structure preserving the warmth or coldness of the drink you pour in it splendidly.

The basic form is made in a jig
Manufacturing process 2: continue to fine-tune the shape of the tumbler in hand

Most reader know Outdoor, the producer of bags and other rugged travel gear and they have collaborated with Namco/Bandai or other anime/manga companies before like these JoJo’s bizarre adventure backpacks.

For the true Pac-Man fans the real “must have” of this birthday celebration of our yellow hero was this  limited gold plate.  This commemorative plate was
an official collaboration with Japanese jeweler GINZA TANAKA and is one of a kind creation. Unfortunately this was released last year to celebrate his 35th birthday and is no longer available…but we can dream can we?

JWS japanwebshopping website renewal.

Let me first thank you all dear customers/friends who have been putting your trust in our service, without your help we’d all be working for other companies and we wouldn’t enjoy our jobs/lives as much as we do now.

We’ve been  getting the most surprising and unusual requests and thereby expanding our horizon in what you want and we learn what makes our fellow human being tick. Communicating with folks from all around the world has been a challenging at times (we had to bring in a part-time Spanish speaker/translator  and on a rare occasion a Russian translator), but besides  these rare hiccups, chatting with you through Skype/WordPress/mail and Facebook has been a blast.

We also value your input a lot, and a common complain was that our website loaded like snail…our mistake was that we tried to put as much information and connecting links in it as possible, thereby creating a headache for those without high speed internet access.

So we went a bit simpler this time, and changed the look to a more material/metal look. The pages load a bit faster and it’s definitely easier to the eye. Our love for manga and anime are also more present this time around.

This dark metallic look continues in the separate product pages.

Firefox_Screenshot_2015-12-02T02-49-55.516Z

We still haven’t completed the whole site yet though(especially the Japanese section), but we’re working hard to have it finished before Christmas.

Thank you all so much for your patience and in the meantime we will continue to be the best/safest/cheapest (and most personal) personal shopper for you.

Sailor moon pens and cup and saucer set now up for pre-order…earn points

When it comes to celebrating their 20th anniversary, Sailor Moon girls don’t go out on the town, swigging from a cheap bottle of Brut, yelling “It’s my birf-daaaaay” to passers-by on the street.

This is a group of soldiers who choose to stay home instead, holding tea parties with their nearest and dearest, using only the finest Japanese tableware on the market, Noritake.

Now you can sip tea like a sailor warrior too, with this gorgeous new teacup and saucer set, which blends fine porcelain details with cute motifs from the hit series.

The set, available from Premium Bandai for 7,776 yen (US$64.82), is based around the theme of “kizuna”, or bonds, and highlights the special bond shared by the inner senshi; Sailors Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus.

l

This is only the second time Noritake has teamed up with the Sailor Moon franchise to offer a special product. Earlier this year, they offered a special set in honour of the love between Sailor Moon and her sweetheart, Tuxedo Mask.

stux

For their second collaboration, the pink and blue rose, symbolising a union that goes all the way back to their previous lives as Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion, is moved from the outside of the teacup to the inside, and is surrounded by gerberas in the colours of four of the main senshi, as a nod to the girls who prop them up.

The saucer also features some beautiful details. In the centre, we have Sailor Moon’s palace, the Moon Castle, which is surrounded by five gerberas, motifs and ribbons of the inner senshi.

The teacup and saucer sets, on sale from 17 September, will be available for delivery in December. Get in now before they’re all sold out!

Sailors Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto join Sailor Moon in getting cool new anime pens

SM 0

It’s easy to forget, but Sailor Moon and her fellow Sailor Senshi actually spend most of their day as students. When there aren’t any monsters around, the anime’s cast should ostensibly have notes to take, worksheets to fill out, and reports to write, and when it’s time to stop fighting and start studying, maybe they reach for one of these pens modeled after the magical equipment of Sailors Moon, Chibimoon, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

If you’re a devoted fan of more than one Sailor Senshi, you’ll be happy to know that these new pens from anime retailer Bandai are sold in bundle packs of three. Headlining the new lineup of writing instruments is the Moon Prism Ball Pen Set (“ball pen” being the term in Japan for a ballpoint pen), inspired by Sailor Moon and her precocious daughter Chibiusa.

SM 1

From left to right, the pens take their designs from the Moon Stick, Sailor Moon’s original handheld object of power, Chibiusa/Sailor Chibimoon’s Pink Moon Stick, and the Spiral Heart Moon Rod which the series’ titular heroine upgraded to during its Sailor Moon S arc.

SM 4

▼ Writing the letter “M” has never looked so anime-elegant!

SM 5

The three black-ink 0.7-milimeter tip pens come in a clear-front package, so that you can proudly display your arsenal on the shelf next to your Blu-ray boxed sets of the series. Alternatively, you can flip the pens’ box around and appreciate the artwork that takes up the entire backside.

SM 15

And if you prefer Senshi of the Outer variety, there’s also the Planet Power Ball Pen Set.

SM 7

This time around, the Transformation Lip Rods of Sailors Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto have been themselves transformed into pens.

SM 10

SM 11

SM 16

Both sets are identically priced at 3,456 yen (US$28), and can be ordered through the Premium Bandai online store (Moon Power set here, Planet Power here). Shipping is scheduled for January.

Let us pre-order them and receive your bandai store points!

Turn over a new gold leaf with these stylish Gundam dishes from the Gundam Cafe

The age of the geek with expendable cash is truly upon us, as many people who grew up on comic books and cartoons are turning into adults with well-paying jobs. There is also a growing population of people in Japan who are forgoing a traditional relationship and instead spending more money on themselves. These burgeoning consumers might be the reason why you will find geek-centric yet sophisticated household items. That way, responsible adults can still revel in their fandoms but still be refined home decorators.

It’s time to get our wallets ready again, since now you can buy Mobile Suit Gudam plates covered in Kanazawa gold leaf.

There is a style of traditional craftwork produced in Kanazawa that turns gold into gold leaf. The time-honored technique is brilliant, both in ingenuity and shininess.

gundam 9

Gold leaf is gold that is hammered around 10,000 times to create a sheet of gold foil that is only 1-2 millimeters (0.04-0.08 inches) thick. The precious gold leaf is used as an accent or even the main attraction in many different items ranging from fountain pens to Japanese fans and decorative trinket boxes. Kanazawa City in Ishikawa Prefecture produces 99 percent of the gold leaf in Japan and proudly calls it Kanazawa-Haku. If you have visited Kyoto before, it is likely that you have seen this special gold leaf in person, as the famous Golden Pavilion is covered in gold leaf from Kanazawa.

gundam 10©RocketNews24

Mobile Suit Gundam fans can rejoice as a brand new collaboration combines the dazzling Kanazawa-Haku with the iconic mechanical designs of Kunio Okawara. You have probably never seen Gundam and the Zaku so traditionally stylish before.

gundam 1

gundam 5

gundam 8

gundam 6

Coming in a set of two, these beautiful plates would look amazing on any coffee table,  or mantel, since the plates come with stands as well. That’s just fine and dandy since you won’t be getting very much function out of these dishes anyway as they are only 14 centimeters by 14 centimeters (5.5 inches x 5.5 inches).

▼ Would you put your dirty food on here? We think not!

gundam 7

Gundam and gold leaf fans will have to head over to the Bandai Online Store if they want to pre-order the Gundam Gold-Leaf Glass Plates. You can do so from now until September 24 at 11:00 p.m. JST. After that, you’ll have to go in person to any Gundam Cafe location in Japan. The beautiful plates will cost 8,424 yen (US $69.91), but from the look of it, they are worth every pretty penny.

▼ Amuro will also be buying a set.

gundam 4

Sailor Moon and her pals are ready for tea time with these cool cup-hugging figures

While each member of the core cast of Sailor Moon has her own personality, the one descriptor that works across the board for the Sailor Senshi is “helpful.” Even protagonist Usagi, for all of her lack of willpower regarding the temptations of junk food and video games, is always ready to lend a hand to those in need when the chips are down.

Case in point: Not only will the hit anime’s magical girls protect your town from interdimensional monsters on a weekly basis, they’ll even keep you company during your coffee break, in the form of these cheerful Sailor Moon figures that’ll cling to the edge of your cup as you sip your beverage.

This year’s Summer Wonder Festival just wrapped up last weekend, and among the items exhibited at the model and figure expo were these three Sailor Moon cup companions. While many of the creations shown at Wonder Festival are one-offs or for display purposes only, now you can order these super-deformed Sailor Senshi through Bandai’s Premium Bandai website.

6

Part of the Ocha Tomo Series, the set features the first three members of the series’ solar system’s worth of heroines, Sailors Moon, Mercury, and Mars.

2

3

▼ Sadly, the Sailor Mars figure isn’t capable of actually producing flames to keep your hot beverages warm.

4

Aside from their endearing winks, the figures’ high-quality pearl paint goes a long way in justifying their more-expensive-than-gachapon price tag. The set of three is listed at 1,620 yen (US$13), and can be ordered here through the Premium Bandai website. The bundle pack will also be offered at toy retailer Kiddy Land’s branches in Tokyo’s Harajuku and Osaka’s Umeda for those who prefer the instant gratification of buying anime merchandise and/or complaining about how the set doesn’t include Sailor Jupiter face-to-face.
