We will go to the Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo store and get you any of these items!

We paid a visit to the original megastore in Ikebukuro to see what it had to offer. We found an enormous amount of exclusive stationery, candies, keychains, clothes and mountains upon mountains of adorably cute plushies. Join us for a quick tour of the store and gaze in wonder at the great number of things a Pokémon can adorn.

Pokemon217

Don’t be fooled by the space-age starkness of the open-plan store – there are more Pokémon discoveries to be made here than you would imagine!

Pokemon221

First up, there are several large statues around the store, including Pikachu riding on the back of a Mega Charizard Y, which is the exclusive mascot for this store. The pair appear on a variety of merchandise available for sale at the Ikebukuro branch only.

Pokemon212

▼ Located far away from Mega Charizard Y is Mega Charizard X, taking up a corner of the ceiling towards the back of the store.

Pokemon120

▼ As you walk through the area you’ll stumble upon Mega Lucario and Mewtwo too.

We proudly present you the Miss figure election 2016, vote and you have to change to win the number one pick!

It’s been a long time coming, we have the Miss universe, Miss world, Miss bla bla elections, but what we (collectors, game, anime/manga lovers, otaku’s) have been missing is the Miss figure election. Of course the human Misses are beautiful in their own eh human way, but they wouldn’t stand a chance against the beauty and amazing body proportions of their plastic counterparts in a stand off.  I don’t want to sound sexist, so let me assure you that for me, figures are by no means a substitute for real life women..come on they are so tiny, they wouldn’t be able to fetch me my beer from the fridge!

ねんどろいど Libeccio(リベッチオ) (フィギュア)
Now way she’d be able to open the fridge!

Whack! (that was the sound of my life partner smacking me on the back of my bald head)

Figures come in all sizes and shapes, and the price is often decided on the quality, details and popularity of the figure…but I’m going to forgo these points and judge them purely on their looks and uh character.

Without further ado, let me present you the 10 candidates:

1-Fighter Sasara from the psp game “ToHeart2 Dungeon Travelers”

Sasara is a feisty blond, who loves nothing more than to take long walks on sandy beaches, drink Cola Bacardi’s and slice  off some heads with her huge ax. she’s 25 centimeters tall and her favorite pet is a snapping turtle.

ファイターささら コトブキヤ版 (フィギュア) 商品画像3

2-Iris Dina Bernhardt from Muv Luv alternative.

Lovely  Iris is originally an East German army captain,  with a weak spot for bunnies and panzerfaust  hand grenades.  She’s a true amazon at a length of 36 cm.

アイリスディーナ・ベルンハルト バニーVer. (フィギュア) 商品画像1

3-Saito Miohi from Love Torre

Blessed with a dynamite figure and strong love for anything bubbly, this Champagne sipping, bubble bath taking love is really into good causes, it doesn’t say what causes on her resume, but who gives a hoot, for all we care is that her presence in this world is  cause for living.     LOVEトレ ~エッチな恋愛トレーニング~ 斉藤澪火 アフターバブルパーティ (フィギュア) 商品画像8

4-Sakurai Aoi from RAIL WARS

Aoi chan (chan is a term of endearment, often used for younger women and girls) is not your typical miss contestant, being a bit of a tomboy, she doesn’t really like to flaunt her feminine side.  More “human like” proportioned she’s likely to get a lot of votes from the ladies.

RAIL WARS! 「桜井あおい」 : 01

5-Lunchi DRAGONBALLGALS

A voluptuous body and the skills to kick some serious butt, makes this brunette a very strong contender for the crown of “Miss figure” . It is said that she’s an amazing twerker and that she taught pro-twerker Jessica Vanessa all the moves.

6-Anzu Futaba from Idolmaster, Cinderella girls.

With her puppy eyes and young looks, Anzu is certain to attract the votes of “rorikon” lovers, “rorikon” stands for “Lolita complex” and is the preference some men have for under aged looking girls (please don’t call this  sick, as we’re talking figures here..in real life however…)

[閉じる]
双葉杏 (フィギュア) 商品画像1

7-Purayama of  World Conquest Zvezda plot

Feisty Purayama loves to use the trick of attraction through concealing , she might be the complete opposite of Miley Cyrus! Purayama lost the use of her right eye at young age, but this has never stopped her in fulfilling her dreams  and goals..instead she uses it to look more mysterious by wearing a slightly disturbing eye patch AND a mask!

プラーミャ様 (フィギュア) 商品画像2

8-Queen Sukasaha (Fate Grand Order)

This blue blooded royalty is all about style and class, giving “human” royalty a run for its money. If this was the queen of some country, I’d be emigrating there in jiffy. No flower printed Laura Ashley dresses for Sukasaha..the last person who suggested this, ended up on the sharp end of her spear!

[閉じる]
ランサー/スカサハ (フィギュア) 商品画像1

9-Super Sonico (Beach Queens)

What would a Miss figure election be without presence of one of the Beach Queens? This year’s representative is Super Sonico, a cute fun loving girl who likes to sunbath on the sandy beaches of Cancun while listening to the latest vocaloid tracks. If she wins, she wants to use the money to go to Nice in France, and get rid of those tan lines.

[閉じる]
すーぱーそに子【スペシャルVer.】 (フィギュア) 商品画像1

10-Marie Rose (Dead or Alive)

If there had been earlier Miss Figure elections, than the ladies of action game Dead or Alive, would have been regular participants, with their beauty, skills and other bouncy attributes. It comes as a big surprise than that their entree lacks the two points which made this franchise so famous.

No bikini clad lady, Marie Rose like to wear Goth styled Lolita  maid clothes and is therefore no participant in the famous Dead or Alive volleyball games. This stunning blonde brings character and style to this Miss election.

ARTFX J マリー・ローズ (フィギュア) 商品画像2

Choosing between these ladies might be hardest thing ever,  therefore we let you decide who will be our Miss Figure 2016. One person will receive the winning figure on courtesy of JWS.

Just fill out the form below and send us your vote, only the winner will be contacted and other votes will be erased as part of our strict privacy policy. So we guarantee you that you won’t receive any spam or other mail.

Some “contestants” are only up for pre-order, in which case we will order and once it’s “ready”, ship it to you.

Voting will end on the first of October and the results will be announced on the fifth of October.

Happy voting!

Wow it has been 2016 for nine days now and this my first post of the year…well to be honest that’s how long my hangover and upset stomach lasted…the fact that I bought a play station 4 didn’t really help speeding up my will to sit behind the PC and greet you my dear readers/customers..but my heart and thoughts were with you the whole time.

PlayStation 4 METAL GEAR SOLID V LIMITED PACK THE PHANTOM PAIN EDITION
PlayStation 4 METAL GEAR SOLID V LIMITED PACK THE PHANTOM PAIN EDITION, expensive yeah, but you didn’t think I’d get myself an ordinary one..now did you?

For those folks who have no idea how the Japanese celebrate each year’s “baton touch” (japanglish..meaning take over the job), let me give you a short description..after all the PS4 is calling my name.

On new year’s eve, most folks sit around the TV watching boxing(it used to be K1…), silly variety shows full of Yoshimoto(the biggest comedy talent agency), with the best watched being a show called waratte ikenai (you’re not allowed to laugh), which my three sons aged 6, 8 and 11 love…which kinda explains the target audience..

Another big group watches the yearly Kohakku, a singing show in which artists are divided in two groups and have to battle and if you’re not into Japanese music you might feel better getting your toenails pulled. A lot of families eat soba or buckwheat noodles, because the length of the noodles represents longevity(you can’t make this up)

When it’s twelve o’clock don’t expect any special celebrations like fireworks, no we wish each other an Akemashite omedetou( ou is pronounced as oo for the Dutch readers), and some might brace the cold and head up to the nearest shrine (Temples are rarely visited during festivities) to perform a season’s first prayer…others go to bed and wait till the next day…expect a lot of climbing and waiting if you want to experience this.

New year’s day is when the families come together for celebrations, kind of like Christmas in other countries, they have a meal mostly consisting out of shabu shabu or sukiyaki, sushi and other delicacies.

I’m sure each family has their own traditions, but these are the basics..so for those who do expect a huge celebration during new year’s eve…well don’t.

Back to reality..the hangover has worn off, and new requests have been received, so let’s see what’s new.

Let’s start with a little video to see what Hello Kitty and Mazinger Z have in common…

Yep that’s a Kitty with attitude, this Mazinger Z inspired  robot kitty is now up for pre-order from January 6 till January 24. It’s about 105mm in height and weighs 400 grams(chubby kitty). It’s made out of die-cast and ABS with delivery scheduled for late may. The little Kitty figure is included.

After they bumped into each other they changed souls (true story) and besides there souls they also received each others’ looks….Yep this stuff happens all the time here in Japan.. So how did Mazinger Z look after this encounter…

Wow if that isn’t the cutest robot…you wonder how Optimus Prime would react if he’d encounter this robot. Now it’s yours to have for a mere 8,424 yen as pre-order. As usual Sanrio doesn’t accept foreign issued credit cards so you’re stuck with us…but that’s no punishment because we give you the points too!

JWS japanwebshopping website renewal.

Let me first thank you all dear customers/friends who have been putting your trust in our service, without your help we’d all be working for other companies and we wouldn’t enjoy our jobs/lives as much as we do now.

We’ve been  getting the most surprising and unusual requests and thereby expanding our horizon in what you want and we learn what makes our fellow human being tick. Communicating with folks from all around the world has been a challenging at times (we had to bring in a part-time Spanish speaker/translator  and on a rare occasion a Russian translator), but besides  these rare hiccups, chatting with you through Skype/WordPress/mail and Facebook has been a blast.

We also value your input a lot, and a common complain was that our website loaded like snail…our mistake was that we tried to put as much information and connecting links in it as possible, thereby creating a headache for those without high speed internet access.

So we went a bit simpler this time, and changed the look to a more material/metal look. The pages load a bit faster and it’s definitely easier to the eye. Our love for manga and anime are also more present this time around.

This dark metallic look continues in the separate product pages.

We still haven’t completed the whole site yet though(especially the Japanese section), but we’re working hard to have it finished before Christmas.

Thank you all so much for your patience and in the meantime we will continue to be the best/safest/cheapest (and most personal) personal shopper for you.

Anime figure with straw-holding cleavage is the perfect way to enjoy a nice glass of milk

Even among animation aficionados, it can sometimes be hard to justify spending the equivalent of a hundred dollars or more on an anime character figure. No matter how high the quality of the product is, that’s a lot of cash to shell out for something that’s going to just sit there gathering dust on your shelf, even if it looks pretty doing it.

But perhaps it’ll be easier for shoppers to pull the trigger on this particular figure. True, the subject being a busty and bikini-clad anime heroine isn’t anything we haven’t seen before, but what makes this figure special is that it’s designed to let otaku cram a straw between its breasts to suck on as they enjoy a refreshing glass of milk.

The enduring fans of Sword Art Online seem pretty united in their love of the series’ leading lady, Asuna, and so much so that her popularity often outshines that of protagonist Kirito. So if one of the other female members of the cast wants to get some attention, she’s going to have to do something pretty provocative.

LS 1

Yeah, that oughta do it.

LS 2

That’s Leafa, one of Kirito’s traveling companions in the virtual fantasy realms of Sword Art Online. Ordinarily, the elf-like adventurer dresses in an ankle-length dress with medieval accents, but seeing as how the Sword Art Online anime has more than a dozen episodes, naturally at some point she’s also shown in a bikini, and that’s the outfit figure maker Junko decided to immortalize in this new figure.

LS 3

Given the natural progression of thought from swimsuit to beach to beach umbrella, it’s not surprising that the figure comes with a tall parasol to help keep the fair-skinned Leafa from getting sunburned.

LS 4

If you can tear your eyes away from Leafa’s chest, though, you might notice that the circumference of the umbrella looks to be ineffectively small, which is reason number one to just remove it altogether. And reason number two?

After taking out the shaft, you can instead insert a straw in there.

LS 5

The figure, officially called the Leafa Sexy Bikini de Parasol Figure, doesn’t come bundled with a straw, but it seems that any normally sized variety will work. Likewise, the manufacturer doesn’t specify that you have to drink milk with it, but we can’t imagine anyone with a strong enough mammary fixation to buy an anime boob straw figure would choose a non-lactose beverage.

LS 6

The figure is scheduled to ship in February, but can be preordered here from retailer Hobby Search for the discounted price of 11,664 yen (US$95). Again, please be aware that inserting a straw requires removal of the parasol, thereby exposing Leafa to the sun’s harsh UV rays, although we imagine most potential buyers can easily circumvent this problem by either lovingly slathering Leafa with sunscreen or simply inserting the umbrella into the pliable buttocks of other anime figures they’ve got lying around.

Evangelion designer’s Hatsune Miku illustration steps into the physical world as cool new figure

Virtual idol or not, there’s no denying that Hatsune Miku is a bona fide star in the Japanese music scene. But while human vocalists might have professional photographers eager to take their pictures for a glossy photo spread, the equivalent for Vocaloids like Miku is being drawn or redesigned by famous artists of the anime and video game world.

Last year we saw Miku as reimagined in CG by Final Fantasy’s Tetsuya Nomura, and now the world’s most popular computer-generated songstress is being given a new physical form as a figure based on a redesign by the character designer of seminal anime hit Evangelion.

While Yoshiyuki Sadamoto is best known for creating the look of Shinji, Rei, Asuka, and the rest of the Eva cast, he’s got a number of other impressive designs on his resume. Sadamoto’s history with animation studio Gainax stretches back to long before the company produced Evangelion, as he was also the character designer for Gainax’s professional debut work, The Wings of Honneamise, as well as Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, the studio’s first television series.

Gainax isn’t the sole beneficiary of Sadamoto’s talents, either. In recent years, he’s provided designs for several of director Mamoru Hosoda’s animated films, including Summer Wars and Wolf Children. Sadamoto also collaborated with sound producer Mitchie M by providing the cover illustration to 2013 Greatest Idol, an album created by Mitchie M using Hatsune Miku’s Vocaloid program.

HM 1

Given how many fans Miku and Sadamoto have separately, Japanese anime merchandiser Good Smile Company figures there should be plenty of people intrigued by their team-up, and so recently unveiled this 1:8 scale figure of the Sadamoto-designed Miku.

HM 2

Standing roughly 20 centimeters (7.9 inches) tall, Good Smile Company has done an excellent job bringing Sadamoto’s characteristically slender limbs and angular jaw line into three-dimensional space.

HM 3

Said twin tails also seem to protect Miku’s dignity by partially blocking upskirt photography.

HM 5

The Hatsune Miku Greatest Idol Ver. figure, as the piece is officially called, goes on sale in May, but Good Smile Company is taking preorders through its website here between now and September 30. For those who purchase early, 12,000 yen (US$100) gets you not only the figure, but also a 420 by 297 millimeter (16.5 by 11.7 inch) tapestry of the original Sadamoto Miku illustration. They won’t ship abroad, but you can let us purchase it for you for the  price of 13,200 yen.
